The Employee Experience

At Teton Valley Ranch Camp we believe in living life beyond the edges of our comfort zone. We believe in striving toward our best selves and always reaching for our potential. We believe in friendships forged in challenging times, and strengthened in times of supportive reflection, and old fashion playful fun! We believe in unplugging from technology and plugging into the present moment. We believe in the importance of community, and the responsibility and contributions of each individual.

We believe in the power of our traditions of Western Heritage and Western Adventure, as guideposts that lead us towards strengthening positive values like a strong work ethic, an abiding sense of gratitude, and a deep love and respect for the natural world. We believe in inspiring the strength to lead and the faith to follow, so that each camper is prepared to meet the challenges they face in their everyday lives with courage and resilience.

Our staff member’s development is important to us and we strive to help them grow in achieving both personal and professional goals.

Ideal Candidate

We seek hardworking staff that who chiefly want to provide a great experience for our campers. Great TVRC feel passionately about sharing their love of the outdoors and the summer camp experience with all members of the community.

TVRC staff that return year after year grow as professionals and people through the relationships they build, and the technical, and interpersonal, skills they develop. Our staff must show enthusiasm and positivity in the face of challenge, and use sound judgement when exposed to the many risks abound in the Wyoming wilderness. Each TVRC staff member contributes to a community that prides itself in intergenerational connectivity and lifelong friendships.

We want our staff to embody the values that we hope to foster in our campers:

  • Strength to Lead and Faith to Follow: Rising to the occasion and trusting in the team.
  • Answering the Call: Shared achievement in a supportive community; we summit together.
  • Ready to Ride: Developing grit, gratitude, and generosity through challenging western adventure.
  • Stewardship: Instilling care and respect for the land and wilderness.
  • Lifelong Friendships: Genuine connections to others, memories that last.
  • TVRC celebrates and cultivates fun, joy, and humor in all we do!

Room and Board

Room and board for the entire Summer Season is provided. Cabin Counselors live in the cabins with campers  (typically 8-10 campers with 2 counselors), while all other staff share a number of staff cabins. The cabins have areas to hang/keep clothes and store gear. All beds are twin beds or twin bunk beds, typical for the camp environment. Many cabins have their own attached bathhouse, but the few that do not share central bathhouses that are a short distance away. All bathroom and bathhouses have hot running water. Please reach out and let us know if shared accommodation is an issue for you, we are willing to work with you to make other arrangements.

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all provided in our dining hall and we can accommodate most dietary restrictions. When staff have time off throughout the summer, you do have the option of staying on the camp property where room and board is included; however, if you choose to leave and go explore (which we encourage!) then Teton Valley Ranch Camp is not responsible for covering the costs of eating out or accommodation in your time off.

We also provide laundry equipment for our staff. Staff members can do their laundry in the staff laundry room any time they are not working, or in the camper laundry area after camper laundry is complete, during the off hours: 5pm-8am the following morning.

Getting Here and Getting Around

Teton Valley Ranch Camp provides transportation from the airport in Jackson, WY (JAC) if you are coming in via the air. We build in a $200 travel stipend into staff member’s paychecks per season worked to help with flights or gas/mileage. Approximately half of our staff travel to camp by air and the other half drive their own vehicle or carpool. Camp does not provide transportation for staff during their time off. However, multiple staff members will have time off on a given day so you can coordinate your time with others should you need transportation off of the Ranch.

We highly suggest you drive/carpool to camp to provide increased flexibility and adventures for yourself! Time off is an amazing opportunity to get out and explore the absolutely incredible nature that surrounds us at camp. Traditionally, it’s never been a problem for those without cars, staff typically spend their time off together and go on lots of wonderful group adventures! The Teton area is an incredible place for mountain biking, so definitely bring your bike out if that is something you are interested in!

For Fun

Grand Teton National Park, Jackson Hole and the surrounding areas where we work is the ultimate outdoor lover’s playground. The following are just a few of the many activities that staff do over the summer: hiking, backpacking, climbing, mountaineering, rafting, mountain biking, Jackson Hole Live (summer outdoor concert series), wildlife watching, swimming/floating down the river, camping at Shadow Mountain, horseback riding, exploring the town of Jackson Hole, eating amazing food and so much more!
